Saturday, November 3, 9 AM, at Lake Accotink Park. Join Lutherans and others from all over Northern Virginia to raise money for Northern Virginia Lutheran Campus Ministries, and help make sure a Lutheran perspective is available for students attending George Mason University.
NOVA LCM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed by members of ELCA congregations in northern Virginia as a mission to invite people in academic settings in northern Virginia more deeply into Jesus Christ and the community that bears his name, so that they discover and fulfill their vocation as disciples.
This is your ministry! We exist to represent a Lutheran perspective in the academic community, so every congregation doesn't need to staff and support such ministry on their own. NOVA LCM gives young adults on campus an opportunity to participate in the life of the Church as they experience change, growth, and challenge. NOVA LCM nurtures those who belong to the Church and invites seekers into the community of Jesus Christ. Students involved with NOVA LCM are a mixture of life-long Lutherans, Christians from other backgrounds, those who recently became Christians, those who are skeptical and curious about Christianity, and everything in between!
The NOVA LCM Board of Directors is made up of passionate and talented individuals from congregations in the region. NOVA LCM rely on congregations and individuals (i.e. friends, parents, alumni, etc.) for more than half of our annual budget. The rest of the budget comes from the DC Metro Synod of the ELCA and ELCA churchwide.
Take a few minutes to poke around our website -- and please pray for our ministry. We also appreciate names and contact information of any students you know who are attending college in the area.
May Christ's everlasting grace and peace be with you!
